I have now been carp fishing seriously for about 5-6 years. When I was about 14-15 I fished a few of the Carp Society Junior Carp Schools, on the famous Horseshoe lake. Inspired by the clear waters, and amazing stock as soon as I was 16 I got a ticket for the lake. I fished a summer on their with a good mate, we would get dropped off by one of our parents for long sessions, walking to the nearby shops to get more food. We caught plenty that summer and the learning curve was steep. Since then I have been a member on a Syndicate in Oxford, the lakes on the complex have a healthy stock of carp, but having been pressured for years they have certainly seen it all before.

Really enjoyed my season on the Carp Society's Horseshoe Lake, many of those capture really stand out for me.
TIP 1: Get up at first light to look for showing fish
TIP 2: Always keep as mobile as possible, and if you see fish then move onto them
TIP 3: Keep the disturbance to a minimum
I am looking for a quieter water for next season, hopefully containing a few nice carp...
