I started Carp fishing around 30 years ago at the ripe old age of 12 I knew then that I had found a side of fishing that fascinated me. Back then 'doubles' were big fish, '20s' were monsters and don’t even go there with '30s' and '40s'.

Then this year I was asked to become a Richworth Consultant .
TYPE OF BAIT: Tutti Frutti
WHY YOUR FAVORITE: It has caught me so many big fish during the winter / spring while most other anglers have been sat at home watching the football . A true bait of the gods !!!!!
HOW TO USE BAIT: During the winter Tutti Frutti / Strawberry Jam Pop Up`s fished as as singles or with a small stick . In the spring starting over a over a small amount of bait waiting to see what happens . In the summer little and often 50 - 75 baits every couple of hours . September/ October over plenty of bait depending on head and size of fish .

That my first ever fish on a proper zig was Mr Grey from Monks Pit at 42lb
Catching my first ever 30 which was from Gingerbread at 39lb 3oz a fish called Moonscale a lake record .
TIP 1: To use washed out baits a method that is completely under used especially on busy waters, this method takes seconds to prepare .
TIP 2: Never be to quick change , a lot of anglers move venue and then completely change bait / rigs which have been so sucessfull for them in the past just because they have heard that what they do does not work on their new venue so they change to what eveyone else is doing and killing their confidence
TIP 3: Always try to be a bit different in what you are doing to everyone else but always have confidence in what you are doing .
The next couple of years will still be on Monks as it was my first season there last year , this lake holds one of the best head of big fish in country .
